Our Mission: To further the compassionate, safe, and responsible relationship between animals and people.

Our new shelter marks a new era for Larimer Humane Society. As we enter our last full fiscal year in our current shelter, we are looking ahead to the future and are excited to share with you our new strategic framework that will guide our work and help us bring more animals home.
 
At more than 40 years old, our shelter has outlived its useful life. Although amazing work happens within its walls every day, the small size of our facility prevents best practices that could save even more lives.

Our new facility will be so much more than a shelter; it will be a rehabilitation and training center, an education center, a dog park, a veterinary clinic for shelter animals, a place to uphold the ordinances that keep our community safe, and perhaps most importantly - a place for second chances.

Make-A-Wish
A wish granted has an incredible effect on the lives of kids with life-threatening medical conditions and the families and friends supporting them. This simple but powerful belief is what inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish in 1980 and has guided and motivated everything it has done for nearly 40 years.

To date, Share the Love has helped grant the wishes of over 1,200 incredible children.

Meals on Wheels America
Meals on Wheels America supports more than 5,000 community-based senior nutrition programs across the country and is dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation in virtually every community in America and, along with more than 2 million volunteers, delivers the nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks that enable America's seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity.

To date, Share the Love has helped deliver over 1.4 million meals to America's seniors.

National Park Foundation
The National Park Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service, enriches and supports America's national parks, safeguards our heritage, and inspires generations of national park enthusiasts.

To date, Share the Love has donated over $4 million to help fund programs and projects in more than 100 priceless national parks.

ASPCA
A leading voice for animals, the ASPCA has provided life-saving protection and care for over 150 years. Whether it's rescuing animals from abuse and neglect, introducing and enforcing more humane legislation, or supporting animal shelters across the country, the ASPCA relies on donations and public support to help animals live better lives. To date, Share the Love has helped the ASPCA rescue, transport and find homes for nearly 30,000 animals.
