Winter is here and that means it’s time to get your vehicle prepared for the cold weather. At Dellenbach Motors we know what it takes to keep vehicles running safely and efficiently during these cold weather months. When you service your vehicle with us, you can drive the roads of Fort Collins, CO with confidence knowing your car is ready to handle the snow and ice. But what services can help prepare your vehicle?
Getting Your Vehicle Ready for Winter
- Change Your Oil
Regular oil changes are something every area driver should do. It’s recommended you change your oil about every 5,000 miles. Although this can vary by vehicle, so check your owner’s manual to be sure. When you change your oil before the cold really hits, you can opt for a different viscosity range. Allowing oil to flow faster in the cold. - Check Your TiresWe know many of our area drivers have two sets of tires, one for summer and one for winter. Don’t forget to switch them out. Winter tires allow for better handling in snow and ice and could help keep you and your passengers safer. If you have all-weather tires, make sure to check your tread and consider a rotation.
- Test Your Battery
The last thing you want is to get stranded from a dead battery. Cold weather can cause your battery to drain fast, and because of that, you’ll want to get it tested. In doing so, you can ensure your vehicle starts up when it should.
