We'll admit it, here at Dellenbach Motors, we like Rihanna. In fact, if you came in to our showroom, located at 3111 S. Being such big fans of hers we were thrilled to learn that the pop star drives around in a new Suzuki model while in her home country of Barbados, and did so with some elite company too.

Filming a recently aired exclusive interview, Rihanna drove Oprah Winfrey around in a Suzuki Jimny Convertible through her old neighborhood to give the talk show host an idea of the area she grew up in.

You might be asking yourself, what is a Suzuki Jimny? Well, while new models of the compact SUV aren't sold in the United States anymore, but they have been around since 1968, with the last edition in the United States being sold in 1995. You might remember it as the Suzuki Samurai. Originally, the Jimny was developed as an off-road vehicle, and sported many military features. It then evolved into a sporty, fun-to-drive model in its second-generation, which included the Samurai trim that you still can spot from time to time in the greater Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland areas.

While production models aren't being sent to the United States anymore, the Jimny continues to sell in the Caribbean, Asia, and South America, as its compact frame and off-road capability on rougher stretches of land are perfect for the conditions. In fact, it even set the Guinness World Record for the highest altitude climb by a four-wheeled vehicle at 21,942 feet on the Ojos del Salado in Chile in 2007.

In the one Rihanna and Oprah were cruising in, there are many interesting features. On top of being available in a hard and soft top, there's vacuum-locking hubs that give the Suzuki Jimny the ability to shift between two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive while driving at speeds up to 62 miles per hour.
