It isn't enough for two General Motors companies to simply coexist... Rather, Chevrolet and Cadillac are teaming up in order for Cady to bring the lauded Converj coupe concept that was debuted at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show into production. To do this, Chevrolet is lending Cadillac the award-winning platform for the Chevrolet Volt. This is the kind of cooperation that we here at Dellenbach Motors think makes these two automakers superb in today's market.

Once Cadillac infuses the converj concept with Chevrolet's Volt platform, the production model will be known as the Cadillac ELR. What really excites everyone here, however, is the prospect of what other uses the two companies could find for the Volt platform. What other new Cadillac or new Chevrolet models do you think could be the next to get the Volt treatment? Could it be the Cadillac STS? Or, maybe, it will be the Chevrolet Malibu? Personally, we think that the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo and 2011 Chevrolet Cruze would be likely candidates. We'd love to know what you think by leaving us a comment!

In the end though, the likelihood of other GM models adopting the Volt technology rests on how well the new Cadillac ELR is received by the public, along with how well it adopts the T-shaped lithium-ion battery and range-extending generator. We're quite thrilled to see what happens!
